I installed version 22.3.0 and that removed version 22.4.1. Does anyone know how I can bypass this, and keep the older version and everything intact, without turning on auto updates?Īdobe, please restore the option to keep older versions so that we are not auto updated to a buggy and broken version! Here is a screenshot showing that the option to keep older versions is not there anymore. Why did they remove this option? It used to be there, with auto update turned OFF. Then I'll be stuck with a broken version 22.4.2 and have to go through the hassle of uninstalling it and reinstalling version 22.3.0 again. That is unacceptable! I won't enable auto update because then it'll start updating everything and may break the working version I have now and remove it before I can get it stopped. I read somewhere that in order to do that now auto update must be enabled. BUT, here is the problem, adobe has removed the option to Keep Older Versions from the update link. Now there is a new update to version 22.4.2 and I'd like to install it to see if they actually fixed anything. He recomended that I go back to version 22.3.0 because that version worked with the 3D tools. After several hours of trying to get an answer from adobe's chat help, the guy finally admited that there was a bug in the 22.4.1 version that broke the 3D tools. I would then save the installer, together with the serial number in a separate text file, in Dropbox. How is it possible to install a new version of photoshop WITHOUT it removing the version I have now that is working correctly?Ī week or two ago I updated to version 22.4.1, the 3D tools were destroyed and wouldn't work. In the past, I usually opted to pay the extra for the full version for simplicity down the track when reinstalling or reselling: one software version, one serial number. Many people lose the original serial number and are then unable to complete the installation of their upgrade version. When reinstalling an upgrade version (no need to reinstall the original version first), you always need two serial numbers: the version you're reinstalling plus the version you upgraded from. When reinstalling, keep in mind that you only need the one serial number to complete the reinstallation, that is the serial number which came with that version. In other words, if you already have an Elements serial number from any earlier version, then you can upgrade.Īs shop around and you may find a full version from a big box store is cheaper than Adobe's discounted price for upgrading. I cannot see it explained exactly what license upgrade means, is from 2022 to 2024 or is it from 2023 to 2024 only or does it mean something else ? By previous version of Elements qualifies for a discounted upgrade to 2024, right back to version 1.0. If it was possible to upgrade my current version to the new version then I would obviously do that instead of paying the more expensive price and so here is my question, is that what license upgrade means ? I cannot see it explained exactly what license upgrade means, is from 2022 to 2024 or is it from 2023 to 2024 only or does it mean something else ? Can anyone explain how this works? Thanks a lot in advance/ Fergus. I had a look at the elements 2024 page and see that it is priced seperately as licence upgrade for 83 euro or buy outright for 102 euro. A bit of research has revealed that my goose is likely cooked and that moving on to a higher version is the only option. I was working with photoshop elements 2022 up on my mac up until the recent OS upgrade to Sonama which has caused a lot of problems with elements. Hi everyone, I apologise if this is an obvious question, I tried their online support bit who hadn't a clue what I was talking about and couldn't readily see a support email address to contact so this is my last resort !
